Micromax on Friday announced the launch of its Canvas Doodle 4 smartphone. It will succeed the company’s Canvas Doodle 3, which was released last year.

According to Micromax, Canvas Doodle 4 has been priced at INR 9,499 and is now available in the country via all major retail stores in White colour.

Coming to the specifications, Doodle 4 sports a large 6-inch IPS display with a disappointing qHD (960x540p) resolution and is powered by 1.3GHz quad-core processor. The phone runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop and includes dual-SIM support, 8MP auto-focus rear camera, 2MP front shooter, and 3000 mAh battery.

In addition, Micromax has packed 1GB of RAM, 8GB of built-in storage, microSD card slot and 3G in the phone. In terms of the pre-loaded apps, the smartphone comes with Evernote (with premium subscription), Skitch (with premium subscription), Hotstar, NewsHunt, Quickr and Snapdeal.

Like the Doodle 3, the new smartphone also doesn’t pack a stylus, which was the mainstay of the first two Doodle-series phones from the company.
