NVIDIA Shield Android TV box goes on sale in US & Canada

NVIDIA has announced that its Shield Android TV box is now available in the United States and Canada via Amazon, Best Buy and its own webstore. The company is offering two versions of the device – Shield (16GB) and Shield Pro (500GB) and these will retail at $199.99 and $299.99 respectively. The latter includes a hybrid drive instead of full 500GB flash storage. NVIDIA is also selling extra controllers (at $59.99), remote with mic (at $49.99) and Shield stand (at $29.99).

Originally introduced in March this year, NVIDIA Shield Android TV is powered by the company Tegra X1 processor and comes with support 4K Ultra HD output. The specifications include 3GB of RAM, microSD card slot, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, IR LED and Ethernet port.

The device supports all Android TV platform features and comes with some of its own including exclusive games.

For a limited time, when you purchase either NVIDIA Shield or NVIDIA Shield Pro, you’ll receive $60 worth of Google Play credit and services.
