Micromax launches Canvas Doodle 3 for INR 8,500

As expected, Micromax has officially announced the launch of Canvas Doodle 3 smartphone in the Indian market today. Priced at INR 8,500, the phone will go on sale beginning April 25.

“At Micromax, we have always aimed to offer something new and different with every product launch with affordable innovation being our core DNA. The Canvas Doodle 3 further reinforces our commitment to empower our consumers with larger screen to help them express their imagination in a more creative way like never before. This is complemented by an entire eco-system of applications,” said Shubhodip Pal, CMO, Micromax.

Micromax Canvas Doodle 3 features a 6-inch FWVGA display, 1.3GHz dual-core processor, Android 4.2, 5MP rear camera with LED flash and VGA front camera. The phone also packs dual-SIM support, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, microSD card slot and 2500 mAh battery.

According to Micromax, it has pre-loaded apps like Kingsoft Office, Opera Mini Browser, Getit, Marble, Rope Cut, and Jelly Jumper on the Canvas Doodle 3. In addition, it will be offering a free magnetic flip cover and six-month subscription for movie streaming service BigFlix.

FWVGA on 5 inch screen is itself looks bad, it’s a 6 inch screen. You don’t have resolution to take use of the screen estate. It would affect the user experience in a negative. Being cheap is one thing and being cost effective is another. at that price point, you can get way better phones than that. If you are going to buy this, you are definitely wasting your money.
