Asus Padfone X gets a release date and pricing in US

US telecom operator AT&T and Taiwanese manufacturer Asus have finally revealed the pricing and availability details of Padfone X. This convertible smartphone/ tablet device will go on sale beginning June 6 online as well as in-stores.

The Padfone X will be sold for $22.92 per month with AT&T Next 18, $29.80 per month with AT&T Next 12 or $199 with a two-year agreement.

“We are proud to add the innovative ASUS PadFone X to AT&T’s leading device portfolio. PadFone X provides tremendous value and flexibility to consumers. It combines a powerful smartphone with a 9-inch PadFone station and runs on the network that covers more than 99 percent of all Americans,” said Jeff Bradley, senior vice president – Devices, AT&T.

Coming to the device details, Asus Padfone X is basically a 5-inch full HD Android 4.4 (KitKat) smartphone, which can be docked into the included PadFone Station to transform the device into a 9-inch full HD tablet. The dock includes a 4,990 mAh battery, 1920x1200p display, 1MP front camera and speakers, rest of the hardware is used from the smartphone to make the tablet function.

The smartphone packs 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, 16GB of internal storage, microSD card slot, 13MP rear camera, 2MP front camera and 2GB of RAM. Other specs include 2300 mAh battery, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS.
