Asus PadFone X announced, 5-inch phone with 9-inch tablet dock

Asus has unveiled the new PadFone X device at CES earlier today. Set to be released by US telecom operator AT&T, the device is a 5-inch smartphone with 9-inch tablet dock.

“AT&T and ASUS share a passion for innovation and we are very excited to bring the ASUS PadFone X to the U.S market. Our technology is capable of instantly turning a premium smartphone into a tablet, giving consumer the ultimate experience on both devices. Together, we look forward to bringing more choices to consumers,” said Jonney Shih, chairman, ASUS.

As per a press release issued by the company, Asus PadFone X runs on Android 4.4 and comes with features like full HD display on both phone and tablet dock, LTE-Advanced support, NFC, VoLTE support and HD voice. Other details are unclear at this moment and are expected to be revealed closer to the actual availability.

No word on the International release plans for PadFone X.
