Asus introduces PadFone Mini 4.3, a 4.3-inch phone & 7-inch tablet combo

As expected, Asus today unveiled its new PadFone Mini 4.3 device in Taiwan. A 4.3-inch smartphone and 7-inch tablet combo, it is the first PadFone series device with come with a 7-inch tablet dock, all earlier devices had 10-inch tablet docks.

To remind you, PadFone devices are basically a combination of a smartphone and tablet dock, in which the smartphone actually docks inside the tablet and powers the whole device using its own processor. The tablet dock itself is just a display and battery, there is no storage, RAM or anything else.

Back to PadFone Mini 4.3, the smartphone in this device comes with 1.4GHz quad-core Snapdragon MSM8226 processor, 1GB of RAM, 4.3-inch qHD 960x540p display, Android 4.3, 1500 mAh battery, 16GB of internal storage and microSD card slot. The tablet dock packs 7-inch 1280x800p HD display, and 2200 mAh battery.

As you can see, Asus PadFone mini 4.3 is clearly targeted to budget conscious buyers and will retail for just NT11,990 (USD 405) in Taiwan.

According to Asus, it will also be releasing PadFone mini 4.3 in China, Russia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore and Indonesia markets.
