LG G2, G Flex to get Knock Code via software update starting April

LG has announced that it will start rolling out the new Knock Code feature to LG G2 and G Flex smartphones next month via a software update. The Knock Code is a successor to the company’s Knock On feature, which was introduced with LG G2. The company will be sharing the exact details of the roll-out locally in the coming weeks.

According to LG, Knock Code allows users to both wake and unlock the phone in one step.

How does Knock Code work?: With Knock Code, the smartphone display is divided into four invisible quadrants. The user taps or “knocks” anywhere from two to eight times in the quadrants in a specific sequence to wake and unlock the smartphone.

“LG engineers placed a great amount of emphasis on providing users with exceptional security and convenience when developing Knock Code. Making Knock Code accessible to a wider audience is consistent with our direction to differentiate LG mobile devices on the basis of user experience,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company.

To remind you, LG Knock Code is coming pre-loaded in LG G Pro 2, L-series III, G2 Mini and new F-series of smartphones.
