Verizon Galaxy Nexus getting Android 4.2.2 update

Wait is over; Verizon has announced that it has started rolling-out Android 4.2.2 update for its variant of Galaxy Nexus LTE. The update will be released in phases, so no everyone will get it right-away.

“The Galaxy Nexus by Samsung will be updated to Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. The software will be pushed to Verizon Wireless customers in phases starting March 19,” Verizon noted in a press release.

The update brings features like photo-sphere to take 360 degree panoramic pictures in camera app, gesture support in keyboard, lock-screen widgets and bud-fixes.

Verizon Galaxy Nexus has always been late in getting software updates. HSPA version of Galaxy Nexus gets almost immediate update, but the in the case of Verizon version, the updates need to be approved first by the telco.
