Samsung Galaxy Nexus yakjuxw variant getting Android 4.2.1 update

Advertisements

Samsung has finally started pushing Android 4.2.1 update for Galaxy Nexus yakjuxw variant owners. The update is currently rolling out over-the-air and will reach your phone soon.

The update size is around 95MB and it will take your phone from Android 4.1.1 to Android 4.2.1. You can manually check for the update by going to Settings >> About Phone >> System Updates >> Check now.

As updates for yakjuxw variant are pushed by Samsung, they are often late by months, thus when takju and yakju variants were updated months ago, yakjuxw variant is now getting this update and still is due to get Android 4.2.2 update.

In related news, US telecom operator, which sells an LTE version of Galaxy Nexus also started pushing Android 4.2.2 update for the phone after weeks of delay. The Verizon version of Galaxy Nexus is also getting the update OTA.

Hi guys, already updated mine. But do you know when will they push the 4.2.2 on yakjuxw? I love the fact that I’m running 4.2.1 alr, with these features that 4.1.1 doesn’t have. but there’s a lot of bugs I notice so far. like enormous battery drain and a bit more laggy. I hope they push the 4.2.2 sooner to get rid of these bugs. Thank you. -from Philippines
