Sony Ericsson Xperia Active now available in US

Sony Ericsson has started selling the unlocked model of Xperia Active smartphone in US. Priced at $340, it can now be purchased from Newegg; Sony Store is also likely to list the phone soon.

Xperia Active is targeted to fitness buffs and sports enthusiasts with features like scratch resistant display, dust-proof and water resistant body. It comes with Android 2.3, 1GHz processor, 512MB RAM, 320MB internal memory, 3 inch display, 5MP rear camera with LED flash and 1200 mAh battery.

The version on sale supports 900 / 2100 MHz 3G bands, 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz GSM bands.  Company has already promised the Android 4.0 update for the smartphone, so it is certainly not a bad deal.

Thanks for the info, I was really expecting this phone in the US. I found more about the sports apps on xperia-active.com. Must read for anyone who’ll buy this phone for its sport capabilities, such as me.
