Advertisements

Huawei is planning to start selling self-branded smartphones in UK. It has focused mainly on acting as an OEM in the past, but the recent thinking has led it to launch own-brand handsets in markets like India, and Australia.

Huawei will launch Android powered Blaze as first smartphone in this branding change as soon as next month. Huawei Blaze is an entry-level smartphone and is likely to be priced around 100 pounds mark to compete with other cheap alternatives.

Huawei Blaze Features:

  • Android 2.3
  • 3.2 MP camera
  • 3.2 inch HVGA capacitive display
  • 256MB RAM, 512MB Internal Memory
  • 1200 mAh battery

“We’re trying to establish the brand, almost from scratch and targeting a market share of 4 percent to 5 percent within 12 months”

Mark Mitchinson, Huawei U.K. executive vice president

Huawei is very big in developing markets such as Asia, Latin America, and Africa. I have its wireless modem, it is pretty good.
