LG has started rolling out Android 5.0 Lollipop update for its over two-years-old Optimus G Pro smartphone. The update is currently available for all three carrier-variants (SKT, KT, U+) in the company’s home-market South Korea.

There is no word on whether the company plans to release the same update in other markets, but we hope so, as it will give this ageing smartphone a new life.

Originally introduced in February 2013, the LG Optimus G Pro initially ran on Android 4.1 and later skipped Android 4.2 and 4.3 updates to directly get Android 4.4. Android 5.0 is the second major Android update for the phone.

The exact official change-log is unclear, given it is listed on Korean on the company website, but it seems to be mostly include the usual Lollipop-related changes like Smart Lock, enhanced notifications, Do not disturb mode, and a power-saver mode.
