Xiaomi bumps RAM & internal storage in Redmi 2

Advertisements

When Xiaomi unveiled the new Redmi 2 smartphone earlier this month, several consumers were disappointed with the marginal increase in the specifications. To address the consumer concerns, Xiaomi has decided to upgrade the two key components of the phone.

As per Xiaomi co-founder Lei Jun, the Redmi 2 smartphone will now come with 2GB of RAM, instead of 1GB, and 16GB of internal storage, instead of 8GB. Rest of the specifications of the phone remain the same.

The phone will still sport a 4.7-inch HD display, Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor, Android 4.4 with MIUI 6.0 and 2200 mAh battery. To remind you, other specifications of the phone include 4G LTE support, 8MP f2.2 rear camera and 2MP front shooter.

There is no word on whether the phone will see a price-correction, if not, then what happens to the consumers, who have already bought the Redmi 2 in China.
