Samsung has announced that it is beginning the roll-out of Android 5.0 Lollipop update for Galaxy S5 smartphone in South Korea today. The update is already live in Poland and will reach other countries in the coming weeks.

The company has also stated that the smartphones like Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy S5 LTE-A and Galaxy S4 will get the Android 5.0 update in early-2015.

There is no word on when other Samsung Android phones will be getting the new Android version, but we hope to hear more from the company in the coming months.

To remind you, Android 5.0 Lollipop update brings a number of improvements and new features like lock-screen notifications, heads-up notifications, ART as default runtime, UI improvements, battery enhancements, guest mode on phones, improved security and more. Samsung’s version of the update obviously includes TouchWiz, but the company made tweaks several parts of its UI to bring them in line with material design.
