Android 5.0 factory image leaked for Nexus 7 (2012) Wi-Fi

Looks like Google is finally close to rolling out Android 5.0 update for Nexus devices as the factory image for one Nexus device has been leaked online. The Lollipop factory image of Nexus 7 (2012) Wi-Fi version was spotted by an Android Police tipster on the Google servers itself.

This factory image includes the LRX21P build, which is in line with the LRX21L and LRX21M builds found on the recently launched Nexus 9 and Nexus Player respectively. It is said to be near final but until we get the official release, we can’t be certain.

Adventurous users can download the factory image now to try it out on their Nexus 7 tablet. There is however some problem with the bootloader image in the file, which is said to be one-year-old.

“There appears to be an issue with the bootloader image, so you may encounter a signature mismatch when trying to flash it. It doesn’t matter, though, because the version included here is 4.23, which is over a year old. You most likely already have that bootloader on your device. If it gives you problems in fastboot, just skip it and flash system.img and boot.img,” wrote Android Police.
