Idea Cellular launches Ultra+ and FAB Android smartphones

Telecom operator Idea Cellular has launched two new 3G Android smartphones in the Indian market today. Dubbed as Ultra+ and Fab, the smartphones will be joining the company’s growing Android device portfolio, which is sold in the telecom circles where the operator offers 3G services.

“With the mobile phone increasingly becoming the first screen for a majority of users across semi-urban and rural India, Idea has remained focus at proliferating mobile internet through these smart devices by making them available at affordable price points for increased adoption. The new Idea Ultra+ and FAB will offer a wider choice of 3G smartphones in the low to mid segment price category, while giving our users an experience of high-end smartphones,” said Sashi Shankar, Chief Marketing Officer, Idea Cellular.

Coming to the smartphones, the new Idea Ultra+ packs dual-SIM support, 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 5-inch FWVGA display, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage and microSD card slot. The phone also comes with 2000 mAh battery, 8MP rear camera, and VGA front camera.

It will retail for INR 8,300 in the country.

On the other hand, Idea Fab features 4-inch display, 3.2MP rear camera, dual-SIM support and 1.2GHz dual-core processor. The phone will be sold for INR 4,999 in the country.

Data offer: Like all other Idea 3G smartphones, the new devices will also come with a special offer for Idea 3G users offering 3G data benefits of 1.6 GB 3G data and Free Idea TV for 3 months, with a pack priced at Rs. 259 for existing subscribers, and 1.6 GB 3G data and Free Idea TV for 3 months, with a pack priced at Rs. 261 for new subscribers.
