Sony has silently updated its support website to reveal that Android 4.4.2 KitKat update will be arriving for Xperia Z, ZL, ZR and Tablet Z devices in May 2014. The update as always will be available via PC Companion app and over-the-air.

There are no other details available at this point but we can expect to see the usual KitKat changes in these devices like immersive mode, cloud-print support, UI changes, performance enhancements as well as updated versions of Sony applications. (via)

New firmware released for Sony QX10 and QX100 lens-style cameras

In related news, Sony has released a new firmware for QX10 and QX100 lens-style cameras. Carrying the version 3.0, the new software brings improvements like half-press shutter to focus, reduction in NFC one-touch connection times as well as support to use Xperia smartphone camera key for shutter release.
