Sony starts rolling out KitKat update for Xperia Z1 Compact, Z1 and Z Ultra

Sony has announced that it is starting to roll-out Android 4.4 KitKat update for its Xperia Z1 Compact, Z1 and Z Ultra smartphones. The company has also revealed that it will be releasing KitKat for Xperia T2 Ultra, Xperia E1 and M2 smartphones in addition to the already revealed Xperia Z, ZL, ZR and Tablet Z devices.

  • Android 4.4 features like performance improvements and UI optimisation
  • Tweaked Status Bar and Quick Settings
  • New launch animation and live wallpaper
  • Updated Messaging, MyXperia, Smart Connect, Small apps, TrackID, TrackID TV, Sony Select, Smart Social Camera and other Sony apps
  • Improved WALKMAN, Album and Movies apps with Sony Entertainment Network cloud service integration
  • “Xperia Themes”, with downloadable UI packs from Sony Select

To remind you, updates are released market-wise, so not everyone will get the update right-away but stay tuned for the software update notification on your Sony device over the coming weeks.

Note: Folks with Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia Tablet Z and Xperia ZR, your KitKat update roll-out will begin in mid-Q2, 2014.

hey there. i’m having problem in restoring my backup it says not compatible with the current software could you please help
