Idea ties up with Gameloft to offer game subscription

Gameloft has announced that it has tied up with telecom operator Idea Cellular to offer Idea consumers with Android games via its store. The consumers can buy individual games or opt for paid Gameloft Club membership, which provides discount on the pricing of the games.

At the time of writing this post, there were a total of 13 games in the Gameloft-Idea store for Android users but the developer has noted that it plans to expand the availability in the coming months.

This partnership also allows consumers to pay using carrier billing rather than credit or debit cards thus removing a big hurdle in buying games for many users.

The individual games have been priced at INR 50, while the Gameloft Club costs INR 24 per week.

“We are delighted to partner with Idea Cellular, to bring Gameloft’s best titles and most popular licenses to their subscribers.” said Sarabjeet Singh, Country Manager for Gameloft India. “This partnership will enable Idea customers to enjoy high quality games from Gameloft for their JAVA & Android devices without the hassles of Credit Card billing.”
