HTC One Android 4.4.2 update roll-out live in India

HTC has started rolling out Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for HTC One users in the Indian market. The update is available over-the-air and is 330MB in size.

As per the change-log shared in the update notification, the update brings security enhancements, Android 4.4.2 specific changes, improved memory management and new Bluetooth profiles. Detailing on the Android 4.4.2 changes, KitKat includes immersive mode, faster multitasking, cloud-print support, closed captioning, improved downloads app and enhanced location settings.

In addition to these changes, you can expect to see updated gallery app, do not disturb feature, lock-screen improvements, improved music app, and power management enhancements.

You will automatically get a notification once the update is available for your phone. Alternatively, you can also manually trigger an update check by going to Settings > Phone Update > Check for Update.

In related news, the update isn’t just live in India, other Asian countries like Indonesia, Malaysia, and Hong Kong have also started getting the same update for HTC One smartphone.

Updated to Kitkat! Working as smooth as always. Yet to test the battery (which i assume is improved in this update)

I know but as per the HTC roadmap both single and dual SIM 4.4.2 were to be rolled out same time in all countries?

You really have to go to the HTC centre and get the camera replaced..
I have mine for about 6 months..
And finally go to HTC centre and let them solve it for me..
I love my One better now..
Btw, it’s free of charge..
As long as your device is not rooted..

it takes around 1 week for the working days..
I don’t know bout your country..
but i get mine fixed in Hong Kong..
the HTC Centre there lend me another htc phone which ran Android as well till my phone is fixed..
the phone they lent me that day was htc Velocity..
which specs are still below One..
but Good enough for the one week experience..

Its showing software is corrupted on my htc one…i tried many times..even restarted my device and tried many times…please Help…thanks//

Same issue facing me also .. trying 4th time now .. lets see.. Is anyone have idea to download the updates directly by any given site..

Guys, I was able to resolve the issue. All you have to do is go to settings–> Apps–> scroll down to System Update and force stop the app then clear the cache and try to download the update again… Happy Kit kat.. 🙂

I can’t find any app named “system update”. Could you please elaborate the fix. Many of us are facing this issue. Thanks

Its called “Updater” under Apps. Force stop it and clear the cache and start downloading the update. it worked for me 🙂

hey i have international version of htc one running 4.3 jb with sense 5.5 …im not getting the kitkat update while my friend having the same fone but running 4.3 jb with sense 5.0 got the update …please help why m not gettin the update 🙁

Guys I am planning to buy at & t or some other carrier unlocked version of htc one from ebay as single sim device is not avail in India have few questions does this phone works fine on GSM & does is it get android updates as heard 4.4 is rolling out? Guys please please help me out in this matter as I am not much aware of this device, whether should I get it or no.
