Acer launches budget Android phone Liquid Z5 in Taiwan

Advertisements

Acer has introduced its entry-level Liquid Z5 smartphone in Taiwan. The smartphone was earlier announced for the European market and Taiwan is the first Asian country to get it.

Although Acer has not revealed Liquid Z5 launch plans for other Asian markets but we expect to see the phone in select Asian countries in the coming months, where the company retails its phones. Don’t expect the smartphone to reach India as Acer has long stopped launching smartphones in the country.

To remind you, Acer Liquid Z5 features a 5-inch FWVGA display, 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6572 dual-core processor, 512MB of RAM and Android 4.2.2. You can check out the full specifications later in the post.

Liquid Z5 will be sold by telecom operator Chunghwa Telecom at NT$6,990 (US$231).

It is the fifth Liquid series smartphone from Acer to run on a MediaTek chip, which is also used in Acer Liquid E1, E2, Z3 and S1 smartphones. The company hopes to continue this partnership with MediaTek over the coming months as it prepares to launch 4G smartphones in the Taiwan.
