Huawei has introduced an upgraded version of its previously launched Ascend P6 smartphone in China. Dubbed as Huawei Ascend P6 S, the smartphone is now available at the company’s VMall.com for 2688 yuan ($448).

Ascend P6 S is powered by a 1.6GHz quad-core processor and comes with Android 4.2, Emotion 2.0 UI, dual-SIM support, and 4.7-inch 1280x720p display. The phone also features 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, 8MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and 2000 mAh battery.

Among the changes from its predecessor, Ascend P6 S has gained an upgraded processor, newer Huawei user interface version, more internal storage, but has lost the microSD card slot. The specifications are decent but a newer Android version would have been more appreciated by the consumers.

There is no word on whether it will ever be released outside China.
