Xiaomi enters Singapore market

Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has announced that it is coming to Singapore, its first step outside China and neighbouring region. Xiaomi Global in-charge Hugo Barra and Xiaomi revealed the news on Google+ but haven’t shared any details until now.

This is the fourth territory for Xiaomi after China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. The company has already stated that it will be using a tweaked version of its Taiwan sales model for launch in Singapore and other countries. It will be flexible to change its sales strategy depending on the market requirements.

The Facebook page for Xiaomi Singapore is now live, you can subscribe to the page for future announcements from the company.

To remind you, Xiaomi also plans to enter other markets in South-East Asian region as well as India in the coming months and years. The company is known for its affordable smartphone offerings, however it also sells a Smart TV, TV companion box, Wi-Fi router and provides Android-based MIUI after-market firmware. Xiaomi is rumoured to launch an Android tablet in the coming months.
