Xiaomi details Singapore release plans of Mi3, reveals retail strategy

Chinese smartphone start-up Xiaomi has announced that it will be releasing the flagship Mi3 smartphone on March 7 in the Singapore market. The company revealed the phone will cost S$419 (US$332), which like Redmi is same as China price of the phone.

In addition, Xiaomi has stated that it will be retailing its phones online and via telecom operators in the country. So, you will be able to grab Redmi from Xiaomi Singapore website (beginning February 21) or StarHub stores (starting February 27). StarHub is selling Redmi at S$169 (without plan) or free with certain postpaid plans.

In related news, Xiaomi has unveiled a special Singapore theme in its theme store for smartphone buyers in Singapore market (or elsewhere). You can see a few screenshots of the theme in the end of the post.

Xiaomi’s Mi3 to be launched in Taiwan on Feb 20

Along with Mi3 release in Singapore, the phone is also set to reach Taiwan. Xiaomi is hosting a press event in Taiwan tomorrow i.e. February 20 to announce the launch details. The phone is expected to be available around the same time it hits Singapore.

That means…. When this gets released in India, it will be priced for around 20k and then it will be a no brainer :O …. In some cases it is better than nexus 5 OMG
