Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play edition getting Android 4.4 update

Within hours of Android 4.4 roll-out for HTC One Google Play edition, Google has announced that Galaxy S4 will also get the update today. The update will automatically reach Galaxy S4 GPe but you can also check for it manually by going to Settings << About Phone << System Updates << Check now.

Expected to be around 300MB in size, the update will brings the KitKat features like cloud-print support, faster multi-tasking, lock-screen improvements, immersive mode, updated phone app and smarter caller-ID.

With the release of Android 4.4 update for Galaxy S4 Google Play edition, KitKat is now officially available for all Nexus or Google Play edition devices. If your Nexus device hasn’t got the update, it will most probably get the update in the next few days and same is true for Google Play edition devices.
