Android 4.4 KitKat update coming to Nexus 4, 7 & 10 in the coming weeks

Google Play edition phones also getting KitKat soon

Google has announced that it will be releasing the Android 4.4 update for Nexus 4, Nexus 7 2012, Nexus 7 2013 and Nexus 10 devices in the coming weeks.

Like always, the update will be available over-the-air and you will automatically get a notification to update your phone or tablet.

In related news, Google has also revealed that Google Play edition devices – Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play edition and HTC One Google Play edition will also be getting Android 4.4 in the coming weeks. HTC has confirmed the same to Engadget and revealed that the KitKat update for One Google Play edition can be expected in the next fortnight.

To remind you, Android 4.4 brings a host of improvements including the new Google Experience launcher, new immersive mode, faster multi-tasking, improvements to core apps like Phone, Google Cloud Print support, updated downloads app, Easy home-screen switching and location in quick settings.
