Google started rolling-out a small software update to the Nexus devices earlier today. The update is now available over-the-air for some devices and bumps the software build to KRT16S.

According to Google, this update will be released for Nexus 4, Nexus 7, Nexus 7 (2013) and Nexus 10. There is no mention of Nexus 5 for this update. As all updates are roll-out in phased manner, it might take days to appear on your Nexus device.

About 3.4MB in size, this update increased performance enhancements, enhances stability and packs bug-fixes. Google has not revealed any specific changes.

In related news, Google has also released the official factory images for the update software on its developer site for all the Nexus devices.  The company has also pushed the source code of this bug-fixing update to AOSP.

“The source code for a bugfix build (KRT16S) is being pushed to kitkat-release and will be tagged as android-4.4_r1.2.  This release is for Android 4.4 KitKat available for Nexus 7 (deb/flo/grouper/tilapia), Nexus 4, and Nexus 10,” Google’s Conley Owens noted in Android Building Google Group.
