Huawei to launch Honor 4 with MediaTek MT6592 octa-core processor

Looks like Indian smartphone vendors like Intex aren’t the only ones jumping on MediaTek’s octa-core MT6592 SoC. Reports are coming in from China suggesting that Huawei will also be launching a smartphone powered by MediaTek’s MT6592 octa-core processor, which might be dubbed as Honor 4 or Glory 4.

The phone is also said to be packing the company’s new Emotion 2.0 user-interface, however the exact Android version is currently unclear.  According to Huawei CEO Richard Yu, this smartphone will be released next month and compete with Xiaomi’s Red Rice and upcoming Red Rice 2.

In related news, Huawei Company President, Xu Xin Quan has revealed on his Weibo account that Huawei is also building its own K3V3 eight-core processor. This processor will come with the company’s upcoming Ascend P6S smartphone.

Not many details are available at this point but this new Huawei processor will compete with MediaTek’s MT6592.

Intex is one of the last Brand planning to launch MT6592 processor based smartphones, most of the leading brands in China have already decided to launch parallel to MT6592 launch date.

MT6592 comes in 02 versions clocking speeds up to 1.7Ghz and a 2Ghz, Intex may be opting for the lower 1.7Ghz
