The source code of Google’s latest Android release ‘KitKat’ has been pushed to Android Open Source Project (AOSP) and is now accessible to all. The two new branches are called kitkat-release and kitkat-dev, and the release tag is android-4.4_r1.

In other news, Google has posted the binaries and factory images of just launched Nexus 5 smartphone on its developer website. If you are one of the adventurous Android users, who likes to tinker, you will probably need these in the future.

Google has also revealed that it will be posting the binaries and factory images of other Nexus devices with updated software as soon as the respective over-the-air updates begin rolling-out.

To remind you, Google officially unveiled Nexus 5 and Android 4.4 late Thursday.
