Remember the rumoured Amazon smartphone with 3D UI & eye tracking support; well, more details about the same have come to light. According to a report in Apple Insider, the smartphone will come with a total six cameras, four of which will be used for tracking eyes of the user, which will then help the inbuilt software in adjusting the phone UI to give the impression of 3D display.

The other two cameras will include the regular 13MP rear camera, which will be used to capture images, and a 2MP front camera for selfies and video chatting purposes.

Apple Insider notes that Amazon has partnered with three key compact camera module (CCM) makers- Primax, Liteon, and Sunny Optical to provide camera components for the phone.

In addition to these cameras, the phone will also come with a 4.7-inch display (most probably HD or FHD), and Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor, which is also used in the company’s Kindle Fire HDX tablets.

As the cameras costs for the phone alone are expected to account for around $40 thus the overall price of the phone is going to be high unlike other Amazon devices like Kindle Fire.

In addition of this premium smartphone, Amazon is also working on a budget smartphone, which won’t have any fancy features and is likely to cost a lot less. There are no details available about this budget smartphone.
