Google Play Books live in nine new countries

Continuing its slow and steady roll out of Google Play content offerings to more countries, Google has now increased the Google Play Books availability to nine more countries. The new countries are Indonesia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, and New Zealand.

For all of the nine countries, this is the first Google Play content type (apart from apps) to be made available. We hope to see more content like Movies and Music be released in these countries in the coming months.

With the latest roll-out, Google Play Books are now available in 36 countries but the number is still quite low compared to the availability of Amazon Kindle e-books.  You can find the full list of countries where Google Play Books are available here along with the availability details of other Google Play content as well.
