Android users in these countries will now be able to purchase e-books directly from Google Play. The exact size of Play Books catalogue in these countries is unknown at this point, but we hope to learn more after the official announcement, which is expected anytime today.

You will need Google Play Books app from Google Play to read the e-books downloaded from Google Play on your Android devices.

With the latest round of expansion, here is a look at the availability status of various Google Play content offerings around the world:

  • Google Play Books: 39 countries
  • Google Play Magazines: 4 countries
  • Google Play Movies: 13 countries
  • Google Play TV Shows: 3 countries
  • Google Play Music:  21 countries
  • Google Play Music All Access: 20 countries
