Sony Xperia Z Ultra getting software update v14.1.B.1.510

Sony has started rolling out a new software update for Xperia Z Ultra in some Asian countries including India. The update is now available via Sony PC Companion or Bridge for Mac softwares.

According to reports on XDA forum, the new update (v 14.1.B.1.510) brings host of improvements to the device including X-Reality for Mobile support, UI changes and improved version of stock email client. The phone is still on Android 4.2.2 and there is no Android version change.

Here is the detailed change-log as shared by Andrewtst on XDA:

  • New UI Interface – Smooth, better than previous one.
  • White-Grey Setting background
  • New waiting animation design
  • More than one small app can now be opened
  • International keyboard finally supports mini keyboard for one hand operation
  • Contact image is small when receiving/answering call
  • New Messaging design
  • New Alarm and Clock, New Calculator, New widget design

This upgrade was long needed; now at least the UI has improved leaps and bounds… it looks and feels as a device worth the price.
The stock email interface improved leaps and bounds..
