Samsung to announce Galaxy Gear smartwatch on Sep 4: Report

Samsung is reportedly going to announce its Galaxy Gear smartwatch at the September 4 press event alongside Galaxy Note III.  SamMobile notes that it has confirmed the same from its sources and the launch of the smartwatch is pretty certain.

Samsung Galaxy Gear SM-V700 is expected to act as an accessory to Galaxy line-up of Android smartphones from Samsung but the actual details about the device are still a mystery. A few patent applications dug up by various publications do seem to give an idea of what can we expect from Galaxy Gear but we can’t really be certain.

According to research firm Canalys, sales of smartwatches is expected to explode in 2014 with more than five million units sales from the current 330,000 units.
