This is certainly a welcome move by the telco and would be especially liked by the Android users who do not have access to credit cards in the country.
The telecom operator has also revealed that it will also be bringing the carrier billing service to its Optus consumers in Australia and Telkomsel customers in Indonesia.
Singapore is the fourth country in Asia to get the telco billing support in Google Play, other three countries are Korea, Japan and Hong Kong.
“The introduction of direct carrier billing is part of our on-going efforts to provide our customers with the best and most seamless Android experience,” said Gan Siok Hoon , SingTel’s vice-president of mCommerce.
