LG hosting press event on August 7, Optimus G2 launch?

LG has sent out invites to the tech press for the launch of a new unnamed device on August 7 in New York. The invite does not reveal anything apart from the fact that it is an international media event.

With invite landing hours after the company sent out a press release stating that it is using Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800 processor in Optimus G successor, and previous rumours of this successor’s launch in Q3, it is a safe bet to assume LG will be showing off Optimus G2 at this event in New York City.

Some of the smartphone internals have already been leaked via benchmark listings and other leaks. Rumoured to be packing a 5.2-inch full HD display, LG Optimus G2 will be coming with 13MP rear camera, 2.1MP front camera, Android 4.2 and LTE-Advanced support.

As always, we will be bringing you all the details about any and every device being launching on August 7, so stay tuned.
