French manufacturer Archos has announced the launch of a big-screen Android tablet FamilyPad 2 today. Carrying the 13.3-inch display size of its predecessor, Archos FamilyPad 2 will soon go on sale in Europe for €299.

The Archos FamilyPad 2 packs 1.6GHz dual-core Cortex A9 processor, 1280x800p resolution display, 1GB RAM, 8GB of internal storage and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. This laptop sized tablet also comes with 2MP front and rear cameras, Wi-Fi connectivity and microSD card slot.

As you would expect, the tablet weighs 1.3kgs, I don’t see any use case apart from the desk-tablet. For the same company also seems to be providing a quick stand along with the tablet.

The original Archos FamilyPad was released in November last year and went on sale one month later. Archos has skipped the Arnova branding this time with FamilyPad, which was present in the original.

There is word on the US or UK pricing of the tablet or the exact availability details.
