Samsung has revealed that it is indeed launching the Galaxy S4 smartphone at a press event on March 14 in New York. Apparently, Samsung decided to move the event to New York because of the requests from US telcos, who wanted the company to release the flagship phone in US. Samsung Galaxy S III was announced in London last year.

“We introduced the Galaxy S III in London last year, and this time we changed the venue (to New York)… as we were bombarded with requests from U.S. mobile carriers to unveil the Galaxy S IV in the country,” Samsung Electronics’ mobile division chief JK Shin told Korean news publication Edaily.

This will be the first Galaxy S smartphone launch in US since the debut of the original Galaxy S phone in this country back in 2010.

According to recent rumours, Samsung Galaxy S IV is expected to come with a 1080LCD display and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 600 processor. Traditionally Galaxy S smartphone has features company’s own Exynos processors and AMOLED displays.

The new Galaxy S IV will be competing with HTC’s recently unveiled One and Sony’s Xperia Z phone, both of which come with quad-core processors, full HD display and Jelly Bean.
