Micromax A116 Canvas HD vs XOLO A1000

Advertisements

It is raining phablets these days in the Indian market. Since the launch of A100 Canvas, Micromax has introduced three 5-inch smartphones in the country and Lava is also not left behind. The company first introduced IRIS 501 under the Lava brand and now it has released A1000 under XOLO brand.

Micromax’s latest phablet A116 Canvas HD is the contender for the best all-round sub-INR 15K Android phablet in the country, but will it be getting any competition from XOLO A1000, which was released in the market just hours after the debut of A116. We will find out in this comparison.

XOLO A1000 has almost same specs as Micromax A116 but it is the processor, which tilts the the deal in favour of A1000. On one hand, Micromax has the latest quad-core MediaTek processor; XOLO has put in just a dual-core MediaTek processor. Rest all the specs are pretty much the same, but XOLO A1000 is much more pocket-able smartphone with less thickness and width.

Still, given the pricing, Micromax A116 seems like a better deal, but if XOLO could reduce the pricing by INR 2,000, A1000 would suddenly become more enticing.

Right now, it is more or less up to users. It is important to note here that the initial A116 stocks are gone and Micromax is not getting the next batch before at least 21 days (as stated by the company on Snapdeal) and XOLO A1000 is likely to become widely available in the next few days.

I know the article had been written to be unbiased but in my opinion it is biased towards the xolo, the issue is not about the quad core or the dual core but more about the generation of the processor, between The A9 and the A7, the A7 offers significantly better power management which will reflect in the battery life.

“It is raining phablets these days in the Indian market”- yeah absolutely. these companies must say thanks to china…..lol

I bought it from M2hshop.com, they also happen to sell !
I tried looking on Snapdeal but found them mentioning it now as “BOOK NOW”. Kept finding and found one good site selling it…. just 9Rs costlier than Snapdeal 😉
