XOLO A1000 packs HD display, dual-core CPU; launching on Feb 18

Lava is going to launch a five-inch Android smartphone under its XOLO sub-brand in the country soon. Running on Android 4.1, the smartphone will be dubbed as XOLO A1000. According to NDTV, the smartphone could be officially announced as soon as February 18.

XOLO A1000 packs a 1GHz dual-core Mediatek MT6577 processor, 5-inch 720p HD display, 8MP rear camera, and 2100 mAh battery. The smartphone also features 1GB RAM, dual-SIM connectivity, and VGA front camera. It will be available in White and B/W colour options.

There is no word on the final pricing, but reports suggest that phone will get a price-tag around INR 12K-15K. XOLO A1000 will be competing with Karbonn’s S1 Titanium, Micromax’s upcoming A116 Canvas HD and similar offerings from iBall, and Intex.

Lava also retails another 5-inch phone IRIS 501 under the Lava brand for INR 9,999 and it features dual-core processor, Android 4.0 and 5MP rear camera with a VGA front shooter.

FoneArena, which got to spend some time with the upcoming XOLO A1000 has posted some images of the smartphone.
