Huawei clearly does not want to be left behind in smartphone size race and thus the company is readying to launch its 6.1-inch giant phone Ascend Mate at CES 2013.

But, one company executive does not want the unveiling to be any surprise. Richard Yu, who has been in the news in the past of product leaks on social networks, has now showed off the unannounced Huawei Ascend Mate at a Huawei store in China yesterday.

The smartphone reportedly features a 1080p display, 1.8GHz HiSilicon K3V3 quad-core processor, 9.9mm thick body, 4,000mAh battery and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

It is expected to go on sale starting February 10 in China with a price-tag of around ¥3,000 (about $480). Now, we just have to wait for the Huawei CES press conference to see the phone (or should we say – giant phone) getting official.
