Huawei Honor 4 with octa-core processor launching on December 16

Reports originating from China suggest that Huawei is holding a press event on December 16 to announce the next Huawei Honor smartphone. Expected to be dubbed as Huawei Honor 4, this smartphone is rumoured to come with MediaTek’s eight-core processor.

According to some leaks, Honor 4 will also come with 5.5-inch 720p display, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, 13MP rear camera, 5MP front shooter, and Android 4.2.2.

Considering that December 16 is less than a week away, we won’t have to wait long to get an official look at the smartphone.

Huawei Ascend Mate spotted at TENAA, launch soon?

In related news, Huawei’s Ascend Mate 2 smartphone has been sighted at TENAA (Chinese regulator) website. This leak reveals the expected specifications of the phone, which include 1.6GHz quad-core Cortex-A9 processor, Mali-450 GPU, 2GB of RAM, 6.1-inch HD display.

Huawei is expected to release two models of Ascend Mate 2 – MT2-C00 version (CDMA and GSM) for China Telecom and MT2-U071 (WCDMA and GSM) for China Unicom. There is no word on the release right now but the sighting at TENAA is an indication that the phone should be arriving soon.

Huawei files for PhoPad trademark, a new device?

In more Huawei news, a trademark filing for name PhoPad has been spotted at USPTO website. The description suggests that it could be used for naming a mobile device or accessory but no other details are available at this point.

It is being speculated that Huawei might release a phone/ tablet combo at CES 2014 with name PhoPad.
