The rumoured $99 Nexus tablet Asus ME172V has made an appearance over a Russian e-retailer. Carrying the same specs as the previous leaks, the tablet is currently listed for pre-order, but not everything is hunky-dory here. The site has put a hefty 6,990 rubles (USD $227) as the price-tag, which does not match with any of the rumours and seems overpriced even for the specs in question.
The images in the product listing also lack the Nexus branding, leading many to speculate that it might not be a Nexus tablet after all. But, we have seen similar pictures of Nexus 7 too before the actual launch, but the final Nexus 7 had Nexus on its back. So, anything more will be pure speculation at this point, and we will have to wait until CES to get a clearer idea of what we are going to see in the final product and its pricing.
