Nexus 7: Is this the rumoured Google tablet?

Advertisements

Reports coming out of Australia are suggesting that the much rumoured Google Nexus tablet will be named as Nexus 7. This tablet will come with the already leaked out size of 7-inch with 1280x800p resolution.

Gizmodo Australia, which is the source of current leak, has got its hands on some internal training documents revealing the existence of this tablet.

Nexus 7 will be running on Android 4.1, which is better known as Jelly Bean. Manufactured by Asus, the tablet will feature 1.3GHz Tegra 3 processor, 1.2MP camera, NFC and 8/16GB internal memory.

There is no word on the India launch, but considering the un-availability of Galaxy Nexus, we aren’t much optimistic. We hope Asus isn’t like Samsung and releases the tablet in India (as the company is most likely expected to take charge of retail outside US)

According to Gizmodo Australia, the tablet will be priced at $199 for 8GB version and $249 for the 16GB version.

The launch is expected at Google I/O this week, when the search giant is also expected to unveil Jelly Bean as a small increment over Ice Cream Sandwich.
