Amazon is using the 5GB free cloud storage provided to Cloud Drive users for the storage of images. Although you could store images earlier too in your Cloud Drive, but that was only possible via the web and for viewing these images, you had to download them. But, no more, Amazon Cloud Drive Photos apps allows you to uploaded images from your Android device directly and you can also view previously uploaded images, no matter from which platform they were uploaded.
On the downside, there is no auto-uploaded feature similar to what is provided by Dropbox, or Google+ on Android. So, you will have to manually upload images.
Amazon has stated that this feature is already built-in the Kindle Fire tablet, but now normal Android users will also be able to make use of this.
You can download the Cloud Drive Photos app from Google Play. The app works on any Android device running Android 2.3.3 or more.
