Google Play hits 25 billion downloads, brings 25 cent offers

In less than a year of announcing 10 billion Google Play downloads, Google has come out to reveal that the total app downloads from Google Play have crossed the 25 billion mark.

In about 9 months and 15 days, there have been over 15 billion downloads, which turns out to be over 52 million downloads every single day since Google announced the 15 billion downloads mark.

To celebrate the feat, Google has roped in Gameloft, Electronic Arts, Rovio, runtastic, Full Fat, and other developers and studios to run some limited time offers for Android users. For the next five days, several app and game titles will be sold for just 25 cents.

Google will also be offering few special collections like 25 movies you must own, 25 banned books, 25 albums that changed the world and our 25 top selling magazines, all at special prices in the countries where movies, books or magazines are sold.

Company has also stated that there are no over 675,000 apps and games in Google Play.
