Huawei has gone all out at this year’s IFA showcasing an insane amount of devices. The Chinese manufacturer plans to launch 4 phones and 2 tablets within this year first in the German market, with other regions to soon follow. Whats more, there’s a brand new UI called Emotion from Huawei. Here’s a lowdown of the devices.
Talking about the smartphones, first up is the Ascend G 600 featuring a 4.5-inch Gorilla Glass II display with qHD resolution. The device is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and has 768MB RAM. it comes with an 8MP rear camera and a 2000mAh battery. The Ascend G 600 will debut in Germany in December for 299 Euros or approximately $374 off-contract.
All the 3 smartphones have Huawei’s new Emotion UI on top. The UI showcased at IFA, provided a sneak peak of what consumers can expect once in its final form. The Emotion UI promises to offer a much simpler navigation experience to users. New additions like “Me Widget” allows users to combine all the information and functions they need in a single, customizable widget. “Smart Tutorial”, on the other hand, acts as a comprehensive support tool to help new users adapt with their phone’s features in the shortest time possible.
What’s strange is that the company also showcased the Ascend D1 quad XL at IFA, which it had officially announced as part of the Ascend D1 quad series at the Mobile World Congress way back in February this year. The phone was expected to be available in Q2 but has still not seen the light of day.
Further, even its MediaPad 10 FHD tablet was made official and set for a Q2 release. That also hasn’t happened yet. Now at IFA, Huawei showed it again scheduling availability for September priced at 429 Euros or $536. The other tablet called MediaPad 7 Lite was spotted in July with no word on availability. Look like this time, that won’t be the case.
