Huawei Ascend G7 smartphone is official

Along with the new Ascend Mate 7, Huawei has also announced the Ascend G7 smartphone at IFA in Berlin today. This 5.5-inch metal unibody smartphone from the company is made using the Nano Molding Technology (NMT).

“In a market flooded with mid-tier smartphones that have a plastic look and feel, Ascend G7 stands out with its beautifully crafted, elegant metallic design. The vibrant 4G LTE-enabled Ascend G7 has been created for consumers around the world to ‘Make it Possible’ to embrace their individuality and live life their own way,” said Richard Yu, CEO, Huawei Consumer Business Group.

Coming to the specifications, the smartphone features a 1280x720p HD display, 13MP rear camera with 28mm wide-angle lens, 5MP front camera, and 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm processor. The G7 also packs 3000 mAh battery, 4G LTE support, and Android 4.4 with new Emotion UI 3.0. According to Huawei, Emotion UI 3.0 makes the phone easier to operate with one hand and features a brand new look across the entire software interface.

Pricing and availability

Huawei notes that Ascend G7 will retail for 299 euros and go on sale in Germany, Italy, Spain, Denmark, Hungary, the Netherlands Turkey, Poland, Norway, South Africa and Mexico later this month.
