Amazon brings Fire TV to UK and Germany

Amazon has finally expanded the availability of its Fire TV set-top box outside the United States. The device is now on pre-order in Germany and UK and will start shipping on September 25 and October 23 respectively.

Originally unveiled in the US in April 2014, the Fire TV allows the consumers to stream online media content to their HDTVs or play Android games. It runs on the company’s Fire OS and comes with a 1.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8064 processor, 2GB of RAM, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.

The Fire TV users in UK and Germany will have access to variety of online content apps like Instant Video, Vevo, Spotify, Tunein and YouTube, however the content portfolio will be differ on the basis of the geographical availability of any service or content.

Pricing: Amazon Fire TV has been priced at 99 euros in Germany, while UK users will get it for 79 pounds. Prime users in both the countries will, however, be able to buy it cheaper.  Amazon is also selling the optional game controller in both countries, which can be connected to the Fire TV to play the available games.  Check your respective Amazon country sites for more information.
