Screenshots of upcoming Facebook for Android refresh leaked

Folks at Facebook are getting ready to push a major update for their official Android app, which might include a dedicated Places app dubbed as ‘Nearby’.

According to a report in Engadget, this update is codenamed “Katana” and will be the version no 1.8. They have got screenshots of the release candidate of this version.  There is no word on when can be actually expect this update, but considering the RC is already in the wild, it won’t take long.
